Tissue Culture Acclimation Guide
Week 1: High Humidity & Low Stress
Media: Remove plant from tissue culture vessel and place in a small pot with fluval or other acclimation potting media.
Keep Covered: Place in a sealed container or place it under a humidity dome, plastic bag, or inside a terrarium.
Lighting: Bright indirect light only — no direct sun.
Watering: Keep the medium lightly moist, not soggy.
Do Not Disturb: Avoid repotting or fertilizing.
Week 2: Start Introducing Air
Crack the Dome: Open vents or lift the cover slightly for 2–4 hours a day.
Lower Humidity Gradually: Aim for ~70% by end of week.
Still Avoid Fertilizer: Let the roots settle.
Weeks 3–4: Hardening Off
Remove the Dome: Transition to open-air conditions full time.
Adjust Lighting: Keep it bright and indirect — increase slowly if needed.
Water Normally: Let the top of the substrate dry slightly between waterings.
Start Fertilizing (Optional): If growth looks strong, use a very dilute liquid fertilizer (¼ strength).
Tips for Success
Patience pays off. Don’t rush — slow transitions mean stronger plants.
Avoid transplant shock. Only repot once the roots are well established.
Watch for signs. If leaves wilt or yellow, increase humidity again temporarily.
